Who we are
Middlesbrough House Clearance is a local service that empties homes, flats, garages, lofts and business premises across Teesside. We keep our focus on the town and the communities around it, so we get to know its streets, its housing and what local families need from a clearance.
We know that the reason for a clearance is often difficult. People come to us after a death in the family, when a parent moves into care, when a tenancy ends badly, or when clutter has become overwhelming. Others are simply moving house or closing a shop. We try to treat every one of those situations with the same patience and respect.
What we believe
Belongings deserve care
To us, a house full of furniture and boxes is not just rubbish. It is the contents of someone's life. We handle things carefully, we do not make jokes at anyone's expense, and we never rush a family who needs a little more time. If we find letters, photographs or anything that looks personal, we set it aside rather than throw it away.
Quotes should be honest
We would rather give you a realistic price than a low one that grows on the day. Our quotes are free and come without pressure. If we spot something that could reduce your costs, such as items with resale value, we will tell you. If something unexpected turns up, we talk to you before doing any extra work. Our page on how we work out clearance costs explains our approach.
Reuse comes before the tip
We aim to reuse and recycle as much as we can. Sound furniture and household goods are set aside to find a new home where possible, and materials such as metal, wood and cardboard are separated so they can be recycled. Only what is left goes for disposal. You can read more about this on our recycling and disposal page.
A tidy finish matters
When we leave, the rooms should be empty and swept, ready for a cleaner, an estate agent, a new tenant or a family who wants to sit in the house one last time. We check cupboards, lofts and outbuildings before we go so nothing is missed.
How we work with you
Every clearance follows a simple pattern: you get in touch, we look at the job through photos or a visit, we agree a price and a date, and then we carry out the work. We are happy to deal directly with families, or with executors, solicitors, landlords and letting agents on your behalf. Our clearance process explained page sets out each stage.
We also take our legal responsibilities seriously. Anyone paying for waste to be taken away has a duty of care to pass it to a registered carrier. A quick search of the public register held by the Environment Agency will show whether a business is listed. We encourage everyone to make that check, whoever they choose.
The kinds of work we take on
Our work ranges from a single room to a whole property. We offer support with clearing a home after a loss, patient, judgement-free hoarding clearances, clearances for offices and shops and smaller collections of unwanted furniture. See the towns and suburbs we serve to check we reach you.
